"The hotel went bankrupt and is minimally functional. Room clean comfortable and warm however."
This hotel needs to be removed from the website for the moment as it went into receivership in mid January. There is a skeleton staff, no restaurant and the very helpful interim manager rustled up a minimal breakfast for us. He also paid for a taxi to go to Freshwater for dinner as we had arrived on foot from Yarmouth. The bar was working so we could watch the international rugby - so not all bad!

It is a good location at the foot of Tennyson Down, and it used to be a cosy informal place to stay with good, but not too fancy food - perfect for a family.
Dislikes:
No staff around in the evening or morning. We were the only people there - felt a very sad place and a shadow of its former self.
